Hourly sessions have been working well for the majority of my families; it's always great to regroup every year and learn about what the kids have been doing and any new interests and hobbies they've picked up along the way.
However, relying solely on hourly sessions may lead to families forgetting to schedule crucial meetings. Life can become hectic at any moment, and it's understandable that scheduling may slip through the cracks amidst the busyness of daily life.
The solution? A counseling package aptly named - Bridge to Tomorrow: A Comprehensive Package for 9th and 10th graders.
When families sign up for this package they can expect:
Two meetings in 9th grade - either once a semester or two in the spring (depending on the student's needs and when they sign up). We'll be able to cover extra-curricular activities, create a four year plan to college, and plan out the summer as well.
Three meetings in 10th grade - one in the fall around September or October and two meetings in the spring to finalize future coursework and plan out summer. It will also give us a chance to go over their SAT timeline and discuss outside courses if needed.
Students will benefit by getting information in a timely manner so that we can plan out their junior and senior years properly. It helps me get to know my students and work with them for a longer duration which in turn sets us up nicely for junior year.
It will also take the stress off of parents because the responsibility of scheduling these meetings falls on me, not them. I will reach out to my students two to three weeks in advance to set up a meeting.
My hope is that this low cost comprehensive counseling package will help families as they navigate the first two years of high school. For more information or to sign up for this package, please click here.
